How do we face suffering? What is our reaction when suffering comes to us? In this book, I want to set out a few thoughts for our reflection. I do not think I am clarifying everything about the subject. I am only setting out what I have observed in my own reactions, in the reactions of those around me, and in what the Word of God tells us about it.
 
As we draw near to the final days of this age and to the coming of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, we will increasingly need to grasp and hold fast to these truths, because before the dawn of the kingdom of God will come the darkest moments in the history of the church.
 
We need to gird up the loins of our understanding and prepare ourselves to face the suffering that will come like a storm upon God's people throughout the world. It is the understanding of our glorious hope that will enable us to persevere and to trust that the fiery trial we will pass through will produce an eternal weight of glory!
